Review of Quantum of Solace (2008) by Franz H — 22 Oct 2015
While I think the Daniel Craig Bond films are the best Bond films to date, this one clearly didn't match Casino Royale or Skyfall. But Daniel Craig and Judy Dench are both excellent. My biggest complaints are the casting of Jeffrey Wright as Felix Leiter, and especially Mathieu Almaric as Dominic Greene.
Almaric seemed more of an annoying rodent than a powerful crime leader. But the film follows the gritty, believable realism of the Craig films which I thoroughly enjoy. Although the "we're so cool cuz we talk about environmentalism in this film" seemed a bit self-serving.
Otherwise it was a great Bond film, vastly better than any of the Roger Moore nonsense.
