As big as this movie is, you will not find worse acting in a big budget movie anywhere. Prince and Apollonia are both horrendous actors and Morris Day isn't much better. There's a whole sequence with Morris & Jerome where they try to do a Abbot & Costello routine that is extremely painful to watch.
This gets 1 star for the music which is as great in 2008 as it was in 1984, however, I do think I need to start dressing like Prince did in this...
