In Purple Rain, The Kid; a troubled, cocky rock star; deals with some serious personal issues while battling with fame, competitors, and a new, sexy love interest named Appollonia. Ok, so the reason we continue to re-watch this film is for the music and the performances.
The story, while pretty good and entertaining, never really goes anywhere and doesn't really have a conclusion.The characters are fantastic, every song is fantastic, and nothing can really beat getting to watch Prince leave it all on the stage.
A fantastic film.
