Review of Purple Rain (1984) by Jessica B — 09 Sep 2017
How can you not love Purple Rain. Like other 80s classics, it's so bad it's good. The melodrama is at full tilt but the emotional intent and passion behind Prince's lyrics are presented in the most honest display he could muster from the time period.
There are so few opportunities to see through Prince's persona and glimpse a bit of the authentic artist within, but beyond the glitter and ruffles lies the man who rocked like no other.
