Review of Pure (2002) by Hector P — 21 Sep 2007
One of the most beautiful and powerful films I have seen in a long time. This is one film that you will never forget. The scenes are so powerful that they will stick with you forever. This movie shows just how much love a son can have for his mother, no matter what the circumstance.
The things this kid does are just jaw-dropping and will leave you in awe. Harry Eden, who played the role of Paul (the 10 year old kid), gives an outstanding performance. I have rarely seen a kid express emotions so perfectly, in a role, with just his eyes.
This kid has talent and a promising future. Molly Parker (the mother) gives one of the best roles of a junkie. I thought that Heath Ledger's performance in Candy was great but Molly Parker out shines him in this movie.
Besides these two amazing performances the rest of the cast fit their roles perfectly. Keira Knightley does great as well and has a couple of scenes that will shock you. The movie is filled with scenes that are strong and very emotional.
It is almost impossible not to come to tears with some of the scenes. The story, the acting, the music, everything is great about this movie. This is one movie that you shouldn't miss!
