Review of Puppetmaster (1989) by Dale B — 19 Aug 2007
I haven't seen this since it came out in 1989 and I was really worried that time would have taken its toll on this film. I am happy to say that, bar a couple of dodgy stop-motion scenes, it holds up pretty well.
The director made clever use of the puppets - not overdoing them so they were on screen constantly, dimishing their impact. By keeping their screen time to a minimum you appreciate them more when they do appear.
Blade is still the best of the lot and I'll be looking for one for Christmas. Tunneller, pinhead and Jester are okay while Leech Woman is just downright wrong. If you haven't seen this and love B horror movies, rent it immediately!
