Review of Puppetmaster (1989) by David D — 26 Oct 2013
Is that one of those undisclosed sexual aids?
In the late 1930 an eccentric man discovers a form of witchcraft that allows him to bring puppets to life. The man is tragically murdered by his very puppets. Over 50 years later, a couple is sent to the old man's estate where they encounter the puppets and tragically bring them back to present day society.
"We saw them coming.".
David Schmoeller, director of Little Monsters, The Secret Kingdom, The Arrival, Netherworlds, The Seduction, and Tourist Trap, delivers Puppetmaster. The storyline for this picture is interesting and fun to watch unfold. I also enjoyed the kill scenes and the puppets were eerie. The acting was just okay and the cast includes Paul Le Mat, William Hickey, Irene Miracle, Mews Small, and Barbara Crampton.
"She's experiencing the past.".
I DVR'd this movie off AMC this holiday season. I remember having seen this a long time ago and it always reminded me of ghoulies. This is an above average horror film that is entertaining. This definitely has some good scenes and action sequences but is not worth adding to your DVD collection.
"Don't touch the body.".
Grade: C+.
