Review of Puppet Master II (1990) by Andy C — 20 Jan 2010
This was actually a fair bit better than the puppet's first outing. If you read my review for the previous movie you'd know that the puppets were made by a nice man who worried his creations would hurt people but then died...Well he makes a comeback (even if he does have to spend most of the film dressed as a cross between Darkman and that clockwork Nazi from Hellboy.) It also turns out that he might not be quite as nice as the first few minutes and that note in the first film made him out to be.
As the government sends some paranormal investigators to check out the hotel from the first film putting them in range of the next puppet rampage featuring old puppet friends like Mr.Cutty Knife, The Molester, Bosh Mc Drillhead and the rest along with a newcomer that looks a little like a cross between a Darth Vader figure and a WWI German soldier.
Favourite moments go to.
Most moments featuring the new burny doll...torching an old woman, then later some bratty kid...then trying to do the same to a naked man before some epic fire extinguisher based failure.
Mr. Cutty Knife does his best Zorro impression.
Oh and the Creepy people sized puppet people.
