Review of Punishment Park (1971) by Alan J — 23 May 2010
Searing and provocative message film about the turmoil in the early 70's and how the government could have reacted; Watkins is excellent as posing "What If" questions, then laying out a chilling scenario.
The film has a very real feel to it, although the desert scenes were rather predictable. I thought the banter between the tribunal members and the dissidents was more powerful. This is certainly a film that forces you to think and should not be missed.
