Review of Punisher: War Zone (2008) by Brad B — 01 Jun 2010
I don't understand why they can't make a good Punisher movie. He such a cool "hero" but the filmmakers don't do him justice. This isn't a sequel to the last Punisher film, it's just a another movie of its own.
The acting in this film is mediocre and at a few times, laughable. Especially the whole losing his family deal. When he accidentally shoots a FBI agent, he goes to the family's house. Somehow there is a "special" connection between him and the daughter.
The whole scenario is just laughable. The dialogue is below mediocre but there are some cool lines that Frank Castle says. The only saving grace this movie has from being a 10% is the action. It is so over the top but really, really cool.
The gore amount is insane but awesome to watch. When you see the Punisher blow baddies away with his shotgun, you cheer for Castle. Overall, the acting, story, and dialogue is mediocre but the action and gore is really cool and intense.
