Review of Punisher: War Zone (2008) by Rodri C — 30 Apr 2010

This makes good on the first one (which was not as loyal to the comic). Here, there is lots more violence (some gratitously so) and gunplay. Thus, there is no need for a good script. The story is ok. It starts with the disfigurement of a mob boss and The Punisher killing an undercover fbi agent and then deals with the reprecussions of that (the first issue with guns and the second issue with a little remorse then guns).

If you like violent movies, and this is very violent, then see this. I'm even proud of the fact it is directed by a woman (I don't mean that to sound patronisingly. Merely to draw attention to everyone who reads these reviews two points: female directors are rare and secondly when they do appear they certainly don't direct films of this nature.

I watched this without the knowledge that lexi alexander was a woman and thought it was a typical male director film then was surprised that she was in fact a woman and had done such a good job with it.
