Review of Punisher: War Zone (2008) by Brook K — 30 Jul 2010

The first Punisher movie that actually uses the comics. Ray Stevenson is Frank Castle and they finally present the true origin story, use a comic villain instead of some generic gangster-type and includes other key characters from the Punisher universe while really driving home the truly dark nature of the character.

Very solid actioner with hails of gunfire n' gore, just like a Punisher movie should have. Yes, it's not without some genre cliches, but seeing one of my favorite comic charactes finally done right more than makes up for it.
