Review of Puncture (2011) by Cody M — 25 Sep 2012
Decent if familiar character drama about Mike Weiss (Chris Evans), a smart but drug addicted lawyer who takes on a personal injury case about needle safety in hospital, much to his straight-laced partner's chagrin.
But as he immerses himself in the case and clashes with big business lawyers, his personal problems send him spiraling out of control. Evans is great playing the flawed hero, passionate and desperate at the same time, and the supporting cast does well in keeping up with him.
The story, based on a true story, holds little in the way of surprises but is still fascinating, though hints a murky conspiracy elements hurts the otherwise credible plot.
