Review of Punchline (1988) by Jeremy B — 19 Jul 2012
Strained drama about unknown comics trying to find their stride. Unbalanced personalities, frustration and wailing egos abound. Solid performances by Fields and Hanks, but not much of a story. Sally was much better as Toms mother.
I am still trying to figure out why they bothered with a love angle. The tension would have worked better if they had not broached the subject. Worth watching, but not by much.
