Review of Punch-Drunk Love (2002) by Kristine P — 06 Apr 2012
Sweet, so sweet.
Adam Sandler surprises (and for once, this is a good thing) with the artful way he portrays the repression and frustration of his character-- something that we all can relate to, at least on some level in some aspect of our lives. And its this relatability which makes the movie so charming. With a wonderful score and fantastic chemistry between the two leads, this quirky love story is everything one desires from a romance. The complexity of the dialogue in addition to Anderson's characteristic direction (there are some real cinematographic gems in this film) makes "Punch-Drunk Love" a classic.
