At least three times in this movie Adam Sandler utters the phrase "This is funny," as if trying to convince us despite all evidence to the contrary. There was very little in this movie that I found funny.

, proving that Paul Thomas Anderson can be boring and pretentious in all genre of movies. Adam Sandler's character is very similar to "The Waterboy." An akward man-child with anger issues.

The only problem is when you put that type of character in a real world setting he is no longer humorous, but actually verges on disturbing. When Emily Watson falls for him, you not only wonder why, but also fear for her safety.

Still, the real problem is my boy, PTA, Weird does not equal funny, PTA. Sometimes weird is just weird.
