Review of Punch-Drunk Love (2002) by Chris U — 30 Aug 2014
One of the most unique dark comedies to date. This is also Adam Sandler's best performance ever and his best movie ever. He plays an extremely socially awkward man who has violent outbursts and compulsively lies.
As the movie unfolds we find out that his sisters are overly obnoxious and scenes that seem to make no sense begin to become clearer and clearer as we think like Barry Egan does and see the world through his perspective.
Barry falls in love and destroys everything and everyone in his path that tries to harm him. This is a must watch for anyone who likes Adam Sandler or loves dark comedies. Don't expect to laugh much, however you will not need to because this story is truly odd, touching and heartfelt.
