Review of Pumpkinhead (1988) by Joe H — 12 Jan 2011
A decent monster movie. You can tell Stan Winston is trying to create a real childhood scare-fest. The monster is incredibly well done (no CGI!) and the first half of the story is solid with characters we care about and believable suspense.
Later when all the supernatural elements show up, it's the attention to detail that sticks out. It feels as if Winston is living out a childhood dream in creating a quintessential monster movie.
