Review of Pumpkin (2002) by Kelsey H — 23 Mar 2008
I don't know the reason why I picked this up until now. I sat down and watched it, not expecting what I saw. Imperfect yet beautiful, inspiring but at times ugly.. It was really quite a ride. In the beginning I thought that the movie was basically about opposition to the differences in relationships, and that only.
Then, nearer to the end I gained the clarity that this wasn't necessarily a dark.... what am I trying to say here? It surprised me with its dark comedy aspects I guess. It made you wonder why people are so opposed to something different and unknown.
The soundtrack was superb, and some actors left me with something to be desired. I was pleasantly surprised to see Amy Adams though. Hank Harris did a brilliant job. He seems to be very underrated by the industry.
