Review of Pumping Iron (1977) by Neal W — 08 Jun 2007
The documentary/drama that first popularized bodybuilding. It is known for it's scenes of extremely muscular guys working out in brightly lit gymnasiums and posing in competitions, with hordes of fans (Including a surprising number of males) cheering for them.
Don't feel weird at all while watching this movie, though: It show that body building can be considered a sport, and is even be comparable to something like art, dancing, painting or sculpting. Of course, this movie is best known for publicly introducing the multiple time Mr.
Olympia champion: An Austrian named Arnold Schwarzenegger.
