Review of Pump Up the Volume (2001) by Cathal M — 22 Jul 2008
This is a film which, both in concept and story, could have been insufferable. Somehow, though, it all comes together in a very positive way so that we end up with a film that says a lot about being a teenager in contemporary American society.
This is vulgar enough to be realistic, but also thoughtful, something missing from most teen films that followed in the '90s.
