Review of Pulse (2006) by Matthew R — 10 Mar 2008
Gloomy contemporary teen horror (and Kairo remake) co-penned by Wes Craven. Pulse uses an archetypal, over familiar plot and structure but subverts it just enough to be classed as interesting. Somewhat weak CG lets it down up until the finale when things liven up and become a bit more appealing visually.
Overall, quite bland and muddled, it entertains but by no means thrills or effectively frightens.
