Hm... 'Pulse' had a lot of interesting moment, but I felt like it could have gone a lot farther. I found myself more interested in what was happening rather than scared of it.

The monsters of the film only managed to really freak me out during the scene in the laundry room, but never during the soul stealing scenes. I found myself confused as to whether or not the scream released the soul in the first place and all you had to do was not scream.

I felt like the film was a big ad for anti-technology movements, but failing to even pull that off very well.

Kudos, however, to the sound and music departments. As are my sentiments on 30 Days of Night, the sound and music make the film worth watching. In fact, if you've got a good set of speakers (and a must on the sub-woofer) this movie is almost worth buying.

It did pique enough interest for me to want to see the original Japanese film it's based on (Kurosawa's 'Kairo'). In my opinion, the Japanese have been doing horror better that the US for a while now.
