Review of Pulse (2002) by Chris K — 25 May 2010
A good amount of scariness and things that make you jump. If you go in expecting a really well-written intellectual thriller, yeah, you'll be disappointed. This is the type of movie whose appeal is mostly in shock value, but the imagery and all the mood elements are also used very well.
The story itself is a work of science fiction and it was taken further than I expected it to be for what looks like it's essentially going to be a horny teenager slasher movie. It had its shortcomings (I laughed about as many times as I jumped) but I still found it very entertaining.
