Review of Pulp Fiction (1994) by Bradley W — 30 Jan 2014
Pulp Fiction is one of cinemas greatest masterpieces, Quentin Taratino's passionate and true work of art that is a testament to dialogue and violent exploits. Its so difficult to describe a movie like this, but yet I have chills just thinking about all the legendary quotes and moments.
John Travolta, Samuel L. Jackson, Uma Thurman, Bruce Willis and the rest are all simply phenomenal. They give me goosebumps just thinking about all they accomplish here. Its the writing that stands out though, delivering us scene after scene with some of the most engaging conversations I have ever listened to.
Its impossible to be bored even when its just two people talking about random things. Moments such as John Travolta shooting Marvin in the face, Bruce Willis taking a katana to a rapist, watching Sam Jackson delivering his famous Bible passage & watching Travolta and Thurman dance at Jack Rabbit Slims are memories that are why I live to watch movies.
Everything from the story structure, editing and soundtrack are incredible and make this movie the infamous masterpiece it is. Quentin Taratino proved once and for all here that he was one of the big directors to look out for.
Over the years now he has made several more masterpieces, but we cannot get Pulp Fiction out of our heads. Its an infection of greatness. This film is a testament to everything we love about movies, a truly dark yet hilarious picture that will go down as one of cinemas greatest treasures.
