Review of Pulp Fiction (1994) by Jon M — 15 May 2014
As a fan of good crime films, Tarantino's Pulp Fiction is amazing. Tarantino's signature use of intertwining stories makes Pulp Fiction the film that it is, but the crown jewel is Samuel L. Jackson's profanity-laden speeches. Tarantino also helps to lighten the mood by making the non-stop violence and crime actually funny, which is probably why this film is so great and has such a large, never-thinning audience. This is one of the few films that every person should see at some point in their lives, if not just to get the satisfaction of recognizing a tribute to it in today's pop culture.
Unless you'd feel really bad about rolling-on-the-floor-and-almost-dying-from-asphyxiation laughing because John Travolta shot someone's head off and then complained about the mess, then you probably shouldn't see it. I promise that I'm not a sociopath, you'd just have to see the film to understand it.
