Review of Pulp Fiction (1994) by Joe C — 04 Jan 2015
No review (including this one) has totally been able to capture the essence of the mutally agreed kick-assness of Pulp Fiction. Funny, it's as if its astonishing impact and individuality defies such petty issues as description.
Eclectically told, incredibly written, endlessly quotable and unfathomably hip, Quentin Tarantino's multi-layered second impression remains his masterpiece, as well as a gourmet smorgasbord of movie lore; The works of Howard Hawks, Jean-Luc Godard and Douglas Sirk all referenced and transformed into something original, vital and essential to the world of cinema.
Perfectly encapsulating the absolute-zero cool of the 90's, chock-full of powerful performances, classic scenes, tricksy story-spinning all tied up with enough verve and energy to satisfy the cool-quota for the rest of the 90's.
If you don't love Pulp Fiction, you must really question whether you love movies at all.
