Review of Puella Magi Madoka Magica the Movie Part III: Rebellion (2013) by Lightningbarer — 26 Dec 2013
Okay...this is gonna be hard, seriously hard to get down without rambling too much.
I've never been more happy and equally sad at the conclusion?(please no!) of a story than this one.

Puella Magi Madoka Magica the Movie Part 3: Rebellion is a visually stunning movie, from the moment go in the films, there have been jaw-dropping visuals that just want to make you weep and this one ups it's game again. As with the series before it and the movies that preceded this, the score fits perfectly.
-Damn, this is hard to get down how drained I feel after this movie-.
Everything about the movie "works", it works very well, it flows onward from the series in an arc that fits, it's just not one that I would have liked to see. The one thing that I loved about the story in Madoka was the idea of selfless sacrifice, that the title character had enough love in her heart to give that love to the world.
This film does the opposite.
I'm not happy with the end of this film, I'm really not, but you don't always get the ending you want, you get what works,-I'm hoping this isn't the end, that the creators over at Magica Quartet don't let it end like this-and even though it's not the end I wanted, it's what I've got.
If you're a fan of the Madoka series, go watch it, it's an end to the story and it works.
But I'm hoping it's not the end (I've said that a few times now).
