Review of Puberty Blues (1981) by Aussie C — 20 Aug 2008
Aussie coming of age movie. Lots of trying to be cool in surf culture circa late 70's Australia. Sex, pregnancy scares, and heroin death occur. It was shot really well, despite what previous reviewers say.
I liked it and am glad to see a piece of foreign cinema that probably had an impact on an area of the world I'm not familier with during a time I played with action figures in a sandbox.
Some shit never changes. Teen drama, no matter what part of the world it comes from, is still the same shit. At least there were no Corey's.
