Review of PTU (2003) by L'inimitable Yan L — 04 Apr 2008

Words that come to mind when I think about this: boring and pointless. An especially inept member of the elite police tactical unit loses his gun and instead of reporting the loss, tries to find it with the assistance of other corrupt cops while beating up various gang members and covering up any crimes they commit along the way.

The final gun battle/massive cover-up doesn't accomplish anything except to kill a bunch of people and make the cops seem even more corrupt than before. The gangs themselves didn't appear that bad except for what the cops did to them.
