Review of Psycho (2007) by Luis V — 14 Oct 2012
A Horror Masterpiece! It's a movie that really is slow on built-up but pays the price at the shocking end. The movie deals with Marion Crane whom steals $40,000 dollars from a drunk client and flees in her car. She stops by a motel owned by Norman Bates and from there on everything else becomes a mystery.
The premise of this film is original and interesting because this is something that hasn't been seen before the time it was released. How interesting and amazing at the same time that you make a horror movie, only 2 death scenes appear in this movie and ironically they are the most infamous scenes in the horror genre. I think this movie does pack a punch because its the element of surprise that keeps your interest up to the last film, and at least on a realistic level it does surprise you. The acting was freaking PERFECT, Janet Leigh makes a jaw-breaking performance in this movie, Anthony Perkins makes an incredible performance as the psycho character, he's weak but at the same time really scary, and the last scene shows really craziness of the madman.
The film lacks any flaws, this is an Alfred Hitchcock masterpiece that everyone should see.
I don't recommend it to kids, even do there is barely violence any violence in the film. All Horror and Drama fans should watch this movie. As I see it, its either an unusual drama movie or the smartest horror movie I've ever seen!
