Review of Psycho (2007) by Lovro H — 16 Apr 2015
This movie has been on my 'To-watch' list for 3 years now, ever since I saw the first season of Bates Motel. And now, I've finally seen it! And it's brilliant! I love it! If I had watched this movie without knowing anything about it, I think I would love it even more, considering the first 30 minutes of film are quite ordinary and then sh** hits the fan! I really liked the story, it had quite a lot of twists & turns, the ending being the biggest plot twist.
Actors did some helluva job! Anthony Perkins is perfect as Norman, and he is genuinely creepy! The characters might not be so fascinating, except Norman and his past, but with a story and an idea like this, it's hard not to love this movie.
The soundtrack is very well made. The infamous 'shower scene' isn't as disturbing now as it was back in 1960. I think the most disturbing part is the discovery near the end, but no spoilers! All in all, a damn great movie with a twisted and disturbing plot, filled with great actors is a must-see!
