Review of Psycho (1998) by Jack O — 01 Oct 2018
Once upon a time, Alfred Hitchcock has directed one of the memorable films such as Rebecca, Dial M for Murder, Rear Window, Vertigo and North by Northwest just to name a few. Now that he is on track to make a new film, he is ready to make an unbelievable masterpiece, Psycho.
This took filmmaking on the new level with it's violence, deviant behavior and sexuality. It hasn't got any bad language because there aren't any. Surely this is the first time you'll get to hear them in the 60's.
The art and set design looked fantastic. It makes the cinematography look so beautiful in black and white. I love the acting in this. This is some of the best acting I've seen so far and what can I say? This is in the 1960's.
But of course everybody remembers the shower scene where Marion Crane is stabbed by a mysterious women and I really love how this is filmed. I hope people will get nightmares when they think about this when the volume is turned up and the music kicks in.
By God, that is cool! I just really love everything about this Alfred Hitchcock classic and it's impeccable in every way possible. The directing is so brilliant and I love how well crafted the art and set design really makes the horror so psychological.
Anthony Perkins is impeccably brilliant as Norman Bates and Janet Leigh is great in it too. Just everything about it is fantastic, you can't really go wrong! This is one of Alfred Hitchcock's best films of all time.
This is one of those movies that you'll must see before you die.
