Review of Psycho (1960) by Carla H — 23 Dec 2014
Now this is a true horror film, not the ones that bathe the audience in the bloodiest of scenes nor the ones with the most jump scares to toss. It was very simple, and yet it was uniquely frightful, thanks to the musical score and the execution of the most critical sequences.
Give Hitchcock a screenplay of a Brothers Grimm folk tale and he could still fashion it into something compelling.
