Review of P.S. I Love You (2007) by Thomas M — 01 Feb 2011
The most boring, depressing chick flick I have ever seen.
The premise is quite interesting;.
A young wife is widowed when her husband dies from a tumour, but unbeknownst to her, he has planned to bring her out of mourning by posthumously sending a series of letters.
But what should be a life-affirming, uplifting romantic comedy/drama ends up being a tired, drudgery, slit-your-wrists bore-a-thon.
There are some funny bits, but half the film is interspersed by the main character (Hillary Swank) having flashbacks to her life with her husband (Gerard Butler) and crying a lot.
Funtimes.
