Review of P.S. I Love You (2007) by Mark V — 07 Feb 2013
I know that this is a chick flick but. . . . Watching it with my wife and I really felt the strength and attachment of their relationship. Dying before fully living out one's existence is sad and worse if you were the other half of a marriage.
The male leads Butler and Morgan were the kinda guys men should be. Strong yet gentle, talented and creative yet manly and not ashamed to be masculine. These guys gave a picture of a devoted husband, friend, son, and (what could have been and perhaps one day may be) father.
Harry Connick Jr. is a mildly (I'm being kind because I like his musical talent) funny desperate male-type but could have done without him. May have chosen another female lead. Swank just doesn't do it.
Maybe Catherine Zeta Jones, Sandra Bullock, Julia Stiles, Amanda Seyfried, Natalie Portman, Rose McGowan, Amy Adams. Almost anybody but Swank.
