Review of Prozac Nation (2003) by Josh J — 27 Apr 2008
The problem with this movie is also its biggest strength.
It shows Lizzie's instability with a certain disconnect. It works because those of us who don't have the problems she has can never truly understand them. However, it causes the movie to stop just short of being truly effective because we're not allowed inside her head.
Without being given the opportunity to understand her, we're basically just watching a bratty post-adolescent.
