Review of Prozac Nation (2003) by Bryan W — 01 May 2008
Those who read the book as emo teenagers in high school would find this movie a blasphemy (they mixed up a lot of the stuff) but once you get over it, you'd find yourself drawn to the minimalism and christina ricci's portrayal of the famously depressed elizabeth wurtzel.
Unlike the book tho, it does not take you into the depths of her depression to truly understand it, only showing the superficial and outwards side of it. Great use of music (tho I don't hear no bob dylan) saves this movie from utter boredom.
