Review of Provoked: A True Story (2007) by Rubayat K — 02 Jun 2007
I couldnt give this movie more than three stars, however before watching it I could think of it worth more than five, but it wasnt as what I had expected.
Ash is a good preformer at some points, but her play wasnt so catchy in this movie. There was something in her expression that wasnt so sympathetic, but sounded more of guilty in her part. I didnt find the husband's play so catchy either.
Aprt from that, there were some falls in the movie that made the story sound more artificial. For instance: Kirnajit did not know any good English, however her understanding English even understanding of the law terms were so perfect. She did not need any translator at any point.
I havent read the book written by the real personality, Kiranjit Ahluwalia, but reading her words published at several websites and matching the movie, I can say, the movie is not so attractive as is the real life story of Kiranjit.
There were manythings missing in the movie, in the acting of the main charecters in the movie that made it less attractive and less of telling a true story of a true life.
