Review of Provoked: A True Story (2007) by Satya K — 17 Feb 2008

A true story about an issue as old as time and hopefully not as prevalent today as it did during the period depicted in the film. Ash gets a chance to show her acting skills (typically lost in the Bollywood shuffle) where a blink of an eye, the slightest rise of the eyebrow properly done can convey a ton of emotion.

Nandita's acting is surprisingly lack lustre. "True" story is as true as perceived and conveyed by the director who has a point when he says "If I can't tell an engaging story no matter what cause is at stake, nobody will see it.
