I really did prefer reading the play but I think what the director did was both ambitious and even worked at times if you were ready to except it. If you are a person who prefers the stage and have read the play you may not be entirely happy with the cuts made.

I believe the thing I disliked most about this movie was the way they cut the scene outside in the snow between the daughter and her father. But all in all good movie. And in case you were thinking, "Hmm this is a lot like A Beautiful Mind.

" The idea was not stolen. The play script for Proof was written before A Beautiful Mind. Oh and the score was amazing.
