Review of Promised Land (2012) by Sarfaraz A — 31 Mar 2013
Promised Land directed by Gus Van Sant. Starring Matt Damon, Frances McDormand, and Hal Holbrook. Film's screenplay was co-written by Matt Damon. It is based on a story by Dave Eggers.
Film's plot circulates around two natural-gas salesman (Matt Damon)/saleswoman (Frances McDormand), who go to a rural side of the country to purchase rights from its residential folks for drilling purpose for their Global company.
Matt Damon is one of my top-favorite actors and I have always loved as well as enjoyed watching his movies, but sadly this contained nothing more than the twisty climax (and I reckon based on that slight mystery the book might have been prepared so was the film).
I have understood the writers to compile huge volumes of books to just spread out tiny-witty loopholes (as I call it). Nothing new, just the replacement with fine actors to play mechanism-less plot.
