Review of Promised Land (2012) by Thomas S — 06 May 2013
This movie is set in a small town of struggling america where our protaganist (Matt Damon) is purchasing rights to frack for natural gas. Both sides of the issue are presented as our main character gradually comes to confront the morality of what he is doing.
This is a low budget movie where the whole of the action comes down to relationships and confrontations in the houses and bars of this small community. Not quite what I was expecting from an "anti-fracking" movie since the message seemed to be that the issue is "undecided".
Nevertheless this is a different movie about an emotional and controversial topic.
