Review of Prometheus (2012) by Eli G — 02 Mar 2016
Absolutely beautiful, and a wonderful premise.
Godawful script, pacing, and absolutely horrid execution.
The plot drives the characters, not the other way around. Characters make absolutely mind-numbingly stupid decisions, completely at odds with their skills, knowledge, and lacking any internal consistency. In addition, basic physics is ignored--massive ships switch direction instantly, items lay undisturbed during massive crashes, and by the end of it you are genuinely hoping everyone dies--no one this stupid should live.
Easily the worst "serious" sci-fi attempt I've ever seen. I've seen worse, of course, but it usually involves Uwe Boll.
