Review of Prometheus (2012) by Stuart H — 21 May 2017
1stly I was disappointed by this not to say its a bad film it isnt but as a semi-prequel alien one of the scariest films ever, there isnt any sense of horror or anything scary at all in this film. Its set in the world of alien and expands on the mythology of how they come to be but seems to be more of a part one in a new franchise leading up to alien and leaves more questions at the end.
visually this is one of the most stunning films ive seen on the big screen,i wouldnt say the 3d was essential but must admit it did look very impressive. mostly the cast is excellent fassbender as the android david is excellent and the bit parters dont look out of place.
its a shame that theron and elba seemed kinda wasted and why guy pearce was cast I have no idea totally pointless. I was never bored and I enjoyed the film all the way threw it but something was lacking for me,things seemed to be rushed,i have a feeling a extended directors cut would add alot to this.
also was noomi rapace cast because she looks a bit like the engineers??
