Review of Prometheus (2012) by Kirk B — 06 May 2014
Alien was heavily critised on release, Blade Runner was a flop, Legend failed, yet these three fantasy/sci Fi/horror films are much, much loved.
Science is there to find answers, yet it is so advanced now that we are finding so many answers, that this is now increasing the questions. Ignore the criticising of dumb plot holes (hey name me a single film that doesn't at least have one plot hole), admire the vision and the ideology behind this film. Praise the fact that it was Sir Ridley Scott who wanted to go back to what the space jockey was, rather than some rubbish B-movie director. This is a classy, fast paced, HR Gieger inspired journey of discovery and horror, that also leaves us asking more questions and leaves us wanting more of the visuals and vision of Scott and more of the brilliant performances of Naomi Rapace and Michael Fassbender! This will be considered a classic in 20 years time, mark my words.
