Review of Prometheus (2012) by Griffin B — 03 Feb 2015
We didn't need a prequel to Alien. In fact, an explanation of what was found on LV-426 defeats the entire purpose of the opening scene of Alien, which is to establish a tone of unease by showing strange and enigmatic things that are.
.. wait for it... alien! But even if we HAD to have one, it certainly didn't need to be this awful. The script has more holes than swiss (and yes, there is a difference between mysteries that are left open-ended, which I'm fine with, and glaring errors/inconsistencies), character motivations make no sense, there is no internal logic to speak of, basically everything is wrong.
My only hope is that I can block this film out of my mind completely so that it does nothing to diminish my appreciation of the original Alien.
