Review of Prometheus (2012) by Bheema D — 17 May 2017
Prometheus is the very definition of a mixed bag. It features an excellent performance by Michael Fassbender. The visuals are some of the best I've ever seen, from the lighting to the CGI to the landscapes to the set design, that aspect is on part with the original Alien.
However, the music is generic, the acting is terrible and the character dynamics are horrendous. All of its intellectual ideas reek of a 16 year old trying to be pretentious. But man, when it gets good, it gets good.
Scenes of suspense or gore are excellently directed, making the last third a wild thrill that will make you fall in love with bad characters. So I definitely recommend seeing it, but it fails to be the proper successor to Alien that it should be.
