Review of Prometheus (2012) by Ben M — 30 Jan 2014
The special effects and cinematography are among the finest seen in a long time and it connects in interesting ways to its sister series, but the script is unfortunately bland, ridiculous, and ham-handed.
The questions it asks concerning humanity, religion, and philosophy are all tantalizing, but the film doesn't even attempt to answer its own musings. It begs to be seen on the big screen because of its sheer visual mastery, but at the end of the day it just feels like a rushed pilot installment of what could turn out to be an engaging franchise of its own.
