Review of Prometheus (2012) by Chris L — 30 Apr 2017
Perhaps difficult to watch if you aren't a fan of the Alien universe but diehard fans will be thoroughly entertained. The film has many direct and indirect references to the Alien franchise yet it's true thematic genius comes in the form of Shaw and David.
David being an android created by humans, capable of neigh human thought, yet devoid of a soul. And Shaw, being the creation of the Engineers and perhaps missing some aspect of her creators yet inconceivable to us-much the same way David can't process what it is to have a soul.
Amazing acting and a solid script aimed at the deep thinkers, Prometheus is truly one of Scott's most well executed films. A must watch for fans, yet perhaps too long winded for anyone not interested in the series.
